Chianciano Biennale

The eighth edition of the Chianciano Biennale took place in Chianciano Terme from August 3 to 18, 2024, confirming the decentralized format that distributes works between the Art Museum and thirteen galleries in the historic center. The event brought together over 190 artists from about 50 nations, with works ranging from traditional painting and sculpture to digital installations, virtual reality, and interactive pieces.

The opening ceremony on August 3 in Piazza Matteotti attracted over a thousand enthusiasts, collectors, and connoisseurs, in the presence of Mayor Grazia Torelli and municipal councilors, with an opening speech by Peter Gagliardi and musical accompaniment by the Bonaventura Somma Band. The Chianciano Art Museum Prize for sculpture was awarded to the wooden work Boomerang by German artist Koloman Wagner.
