Chestnut Market Exhibition (La Castagna)

The 2025 edition of "La Castagna," the thirty-fourth, was held in Venasca (CN) from October 17 to 20, confirming its status as one of the most popular autumn events in the Valle Varaita.

The opening evening on Friday, October 17 featured a Piedmontese boiled meat dinner with DJ Mux. Saturday, October 18 offered educational activities, an aperitif among the vines, the conference "A Valley of Gastronomic Traditions," and the official inauguration with the awarding of the Golden Chestnut to the Bressi Family. The highlight day on Sunday, October 19 featured the market exhibition of producers and artisans, show cooking of ravioles and crousèt, roasted chestnuts, excursions, music, and visits to the Fabbrica dei Suoni. Monday, October 20 concluded with the traditional Chestnut Market. Approximately 1,200 portions of roasted chestnuts were distributed.
