Chestnut Festival of Castel del Rio

The 2025 edition, the 69th, of the Chestnut Festival of Castel del Rio was held on the four Sundays of October: October 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2025. In the village of the Santerno Valley, in the province of Bologna, the gastronomic stands of the Pro Loco Alidosiana enlivened Piazza della Repubblica and the Palazzo Alidosi area from morning until evening.

The star was the Castel del Rio IGP Chestnut, served as roasted and baked chestnuts, but also in capaltaz, castagnaccio, chestnut flour polenta, and traditional desserts. Alongside the food, the market for IGP chestnuts and typical products, and a calendar of conferences and cultural evenings where the history, culture, and gastronomy of the area intertwined.
