Charcoal Burner Festival

The 2025 edition of the Charcoal Burner Festival was held at Malga Alpo in Bondone, in the Chiese Valley, over the weekend of July 27-28. The event, curated by the I Carbonér association together with the MUSE - Science Museum of Trento, opened on Saturday at dawn with Alba in carbonaia: at 5:30 AM, the lighting of the pojat, one of the most delicate phases of carbonization, accompanied by music and a breakfast with local products.

Sunday featured A smoky tale, a day of games, skill tests, and challenges to get to know the charcoal burners' trade up close, with demonstrations and activities for all ages on the green plateau that hosts the restored mountain dairy and the alpine chapel.
