Celebrations in Honor of the Most Holy Crucifix

The 2025 edition of the Celebrations in Honor of the Most Holy Crucifix in Lascari (province of Palermo, Sicily) took place from June 27 to July 6, 2025. The octave of evening processions, held every evening at 8:45 PM with the rosary, Eucharistic celebration, and torchlight parade, prepared the faithful for the solemn days.

The triduum began on Friday, July 4, with the translation of the Crucifix and the mass presided over by Bishop Monsignor Giuseppe Marciante. On Saturday, July 5, after the alborata and the midday firing, the evening featured the grand concert by Amedeo Minghi, offered by the municipal administration. On Sunday, July 6, the day of the feast, the alborata, the floral offering of the "Mazzu," the solemn mass with the offering of the votive lamp by the Mayor, the solemn procession of the Crucifix carried by the twelve barefoot Apostles, and, at midnight, the fireworks display at Karapè followed one another.

Octave (June 27 - July 3): every evening at 8:45 PM rosary, Eucharistic celebration, torchlight parade, and blessing (preacher Fr. Giuseppe di Fatta, OFM). Friday, July 4 (start of the triduum): 9:00 AM lauds and mass; 5:45 PM exposition of the banner; 6:00 PM mass presided over by Monsignor Giuseppe Marciante and translation of the Crucifix; 9:15 PM evening procession with the traditional "sciacculi." Saturday, July 5: 8:00 AM alborata with the band; 12:00 PM firing and band parade; 5:00 PM tambourine performance; 10:00 PM concert by Amedeo Minghi. Sunday, July 6: 8:00 AM alborata; 10:00 AM floral offering "U Mazzu"; 11:00 AM solemn mass with the Mayor's votive lamp offering; 7:00 PM solemn procession of the Crucifix; 10:30 PM live music; 12:00 AM fireworks at Karapè.
