Celebrations in Honor of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga

Saint Aloysius feast and festival 2025

The 2025 edition of the festivities in honor of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga took place on June 20 and 21, 2025, in Presicce-Acquarica, in the Lecce Salento, promoted by the Pro Loco Presicce-Acquarica.

The program combined religious and popular dimensions: the procession of the saint's statue through the illuminated streets of the village, brass band concerts in the bandstand, and, among the most evocative moments, the inauguration of the lighting of the underground oil mills and the pizzica concert with Provvisorio Popolare, which enlivened the square with traditional Salento music.

During the two days of the festival, the historic center hosted an artisan market with local products, while the Pro Loco organized guided tours of the underground oil mills, the Ducal Palace, the Museum of Peasant Civilization, and the village courtyards. To close, fireworks illuminated the sky of Presicce.
