Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Francis

On October 3rd and 4th, 2025, Assisi celebrated Saint Francis, Patron of Italy, with the commemoration of the Transit on the evening of October 3rd and the solemn liturgies on October 4th in the Basilicas, in the presence of civil and religious authorities and pilgrims from all over the world.

The 2025 edition of the Celebrations for the Feast of Saint Francis took place on October 3rd and 4th in the Basilicas of Assisi. On the evening of October 3rd, the city commemorated the Transit of the Saint, while on October 4th, pontifical masses were held with the offering of oil for the votive lamp, according to the tradition that sees a different Italian region featured each year.

The days attracted pilgrims, faithful, and institutional representatives to Assisi, confirming the Umbrian city's role as a spiritual reference point for the entire country and paving the way for the extraordinary celebrations of the eighth centenary in 2026.
