Celebration of the Madonna del Sangue (Patron Saint's Feast)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Madonna del Sangue confirmed the vitality of one of the most cherished traditions of Portico di Romagna (Municipality of Portico e San Benedetto, in the Province of Forlì-Cesena). That year too, at the end of May, the community gathered around its patron saint in the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sangue, with the solemn mass, the procession of the sacred image along the stone alleys of the historic center, and the accompaniment of the town band. The celebrations, organized by the parish with the support of the village, concluded with the usual blessing of cars, a traditional ritual that attracts faithful and curious visitors from the villages of the upper Montone valley every year.
