Edition 2025 — Cautano Carnival
Cautano Carnival 2025
The 2025 edition of the Cautano Carnival (Province of Benevento, Campania) was organized by the Pro Loco Cepino-Prata APS with the Cautano Youth Forum, the Don Lorenzo Milani Oratory, and the parish of Sant'Andrea Apostolo and Santa Maria delle Grazie.
Sunday, March 2, the day began with a welcome aperitif and lunch hosted by the Youth Forum in Piazza Vittorio Veneto; at 3:00 PM, the gathering of masks and allegorical floats kicked off the parade to Piazza Principessa di Piemonte, in the hamlet of Cacciano, with games and small performances upon arrival. The Vespisti di Tocco Caudio joined the caravan.
Tuesday, March 4, Shrove Tuesday, the final procession started from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, traveling through the main streets of the town to Via Madonna di Lourdes, where the "Death of Carnival" bonfire was lit, with the symbolic burning of the effigy and a final convivial moment that brought together all generations of the village.
