Edition 2025 — Almabtrieb Dobbiaco
2025 Edition
In September 2025, the Almabtrieb of the Langalm and Flodige Alm pastures enlivened the center of Dobbiaco/Toblach, in the Upper Puster Valley, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Around 1:00 PM, the approximately 200 cows entered the town from Via Tiefen, continuing along Via Conte Künigl and the Parish Church Square to the Troger farm, in the direction of Santa Maria.
The most productive cows of the summer led the herd, adorned with large flower crowns and bells, accompanied by riders, farmers with traditional whips, and vintage tractors. The day concluded with a small party at the Troger farm, with music, dancing, and specialties of the Puster Valley farming cuisine. The event was part of the Autumn³Mountain (Herbst³Zeit) calendar of the Three Peaks.
Programme
Saturday, September 20, 2025 — 12:00 PM–7:00 PM
- 12:00 PM — Opening of the festival in the center of Dobbiaco, with food stalls and local farming cuisine
- approx. 1:00 PM — Arrival of the approximately 200 cows from the Langalm and Flodige Alm pastures: procession along Via Tiefen, Via Conte Künigl, Parish Church Square, and Via Gustav Mahler
- following — Arrival of the herd at the "Troger" farm (direction Santa Maria) and small closing party with music and dancing
- until 7:00 PM — Culinary specialties and entertainment
