Edition 2025 — Cattafi Carnival

The 2025 edition of the Cattafi Carnival took place on Sunday, March 2, in Cattafi (San Filippo del Mela), featuring the traditional 'A Màschira parade. The Scacciuni were the stars, dancing the tarantella in their embroidered costumes and conical hats, evoking the courage and pride of the community.

The 2025 edition of the Cattafi Carnival took place on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in the village of Cattafi, San Filippo del Mela, in the province of Messina. Once again, the 'A Màschira parade re-enacted the historical event linked to the 1544 expulsion of Turkish pirates.

The Scacciuni were the protagonists, with their embroidered skirts, white shirts with colorful ribbons, and tall conical hats adorned with gems, performing dances to the rhythm of the tarantella in odd numbers, a symbol of the courage and pride of the Cattafi community.
