Castrum Sancti Donati – Medieval Festival "A walk through time"

From August 2 to 24, 2025, San Donato Val di Comino took a dive into the past with the Castrum Sancti Donati Medieval Festival, promoted by the Castrum Sancti Donati Association with Visit San Donato Val di Comino, the DMO Living Ciociaria, the Municipality, the Pro Loco, and over thirty local businesses. The program opened on August 2 with a talk on the Jubilee and medieval pilgrimages in the Comino Valley, followed on August 3 by the De Sancto Donato re-enactment at the Sanctuary and, on August 9, by urban trekking with performers in medieval costume along the streets of the old Castrum.

The highlight came on Saturday, August 23, in Piazza Giustino Quadrari: a medieval historical pageant, noblewomen's dances, a knighting ceremony, and the 2nd edition of the Palio di Santa Costanza, the archery tournament between the village districts. On Sunday, August 24, the historical market, with about forty wooden stalls and live demonstrations, closed an edition that confirmed the festival as one of the most anticipated events of the summer in the province of Frosinone. All events were free to attend.
