Edition 2025 — Castelvetrano Carnival
The 2025 edition represented a historic event for Castelvetrano: after eight years of suspension, the city rediscovered its Carnival, from February 27 to March 4. For the first time, six papier-mâché allegorical floats were created, including the traditional Nannu and Nanna float and others inspired by Mickey Mouse and Pluto, Peppa Pig, Super Mario, Tom & Jerry, and The Smurfs.
On Shrove Thursday, February 27, the parade started in the morning from Viale Roma with the presentation of the floats in Piazza Carlo d'Aragona. The following days saw a rotation of school processions, evening float arrivals, the children's Carnival, and dance performances. On Shrove Tuesday, March 4, the final parade was followed in the evening by the reading of the Testamento di lu Nannu and the traditional bonfire, sealing the return of the festival. The city's comprehensive schools participated actively. All events were free of charge.
