Castelpagano Porcini Mushroom Festival

2025 Edition: the twenty-seventh Porcini Mushroom Festival

The 27th Porcini Mushroom Festival of Castelpagano was held over the weekends from September 19th to 28th, 2025: Friday 19, Saturday 20, and Sunday 21, then Friday 26, Saturday 27, and Sunday 28 September. It was presented on September 12, 2025, at the Rocca dei Rettori in Benevento by Mayor Giuseppe Bozzuto, Deputy Mayor Lucio Mideo, Proloco President Dolores Maselli, and GAL Alto Tammaro President Antonio Di Maria.

Porcini mushrooms harvested in the woods around the village were cooked to order by chefs from the Termoli Hotel School: the full menu was around 18 euros, featuring appetizers, risottos, handmade pastas, and porcini main courses, alongside porcini pizzas, 'aperifungo' with Marchigiana beef burgers, and 'Vinarium' tastings. Activities included 'Via dei Briganti' trekking to the Grotta di Trek organized by the Proloco, the MTB excursion by the Mountain Bike Castelpagano association, the tourist train, and children's entertainment. On September 26 at 11 PM, in Piazza Umberto I, the concert of the Nuova Orchestra Italiana took place; a novelty of the year was the presentation of the 'Nero a metà' prosciutto, created with the University of Sannio and the GAL Alto Tammaro.

Weekend of September 19-21, 2025, and September 26-28, 2025. Friday: opening of food stands at 7 PM, porcini mushroom menu and pizzas from 7:30 PM, musical show at 9 PM, DJ set at midnight; Friday, September 26 at 11 PM, concert by the Nuova Orchestra Italiana in Piazza Umberto I. Saturday: 'Via dei Briganti' trekking and excursion to the Grotta di Trek from 8 AM, 'Castelpagano Village and Nature' MTB excursion at 8:30 AM, stands from 12 PM, lunch at 1 PM, conference on inland areas in the municipal library, dinner from 7 PM, 'aperifungo' and pizzas in Piazza Umberto I, live music at 9 PM, and DJ set at midnight. Sunday: stands from 12 PM, lunch from 12:30 PM, DJ set at 3 PM, Funky street band through the village streets at 4:30 PM, dinner from 7 PM, 'aperifungo' and pizzas from 7:30 PM, live music at 9 PM. Throughout the festival: lounge bar at 'Case della Terra', tourist train from Piazza Municipio, children's play area on Via Vittorio Emanuele III, painting and ceramics exhibition by Maestro Salvatore Fiore, 'Vinarium' wine tasting at the Aggregation Center.
