Castanetum Flower Festival – Piancastagnaio leg

In 2025, the Castanetum Flower Festival had not yet taken place: the event, promoted by the National Association of Chestnut Cities, debuted in 2026 as the first widespread national festival dedicated to blooming chestnut groves. In Piancastagnaio, on Mount Amiata in the province of Siena, the culture of the chestnut has been part of the village's identity for centuries: chestnut groves define the landscape and the local economy, and their fruits provide flour, desserts, and traditional Amiata products. It is upon this heritage that the Municipality's participation in the new national festival is founded.
