Edition 2025 — Cassaro Patronal Feast

In the 2025 edition, following the three-year rotation of the three patron saints, Cassaro celebrated the summer patronal feast dedicated to Saint Joseph on the last Sunday of July. The day followed the usual ritual: the 'Nisciuta' of the statue at noon amidst bells, 'nzaiareddi', and firecrackers, the procession to the Mother Church, and the evening return procession, ending with the grand final fireworks display.

Cassaro Patronal Feast 2025: Saint Joseph

In 2025, according to the three-year rotation that alternates the town's three patron saints, it was time for the outdoor feast dedicated to Saint Joseph in Cassaro, following the 2024 edition dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot. The celebration took place on the last Sunday of July in the historic center of the small Iblei village, in the province of Syracuse.

As per tradition, the highlight was the noon Nisciuta: the exit of the statue from the church, greeted by the sound of bells, the throwing of nzaiareddi, and the firing of crackers, accompanied by the brass band and the Cassaro drummers. After the daytime procession towards the Mother Church, the evening return procession took place along the village streets, concluded by the inevitable fireworks display.
