Jesi's Carnival to the Rhythm of the Band

The Carnival with the Band is one of the most festive events on Fat Tuesday in Jesi, a town in the Vallesina area of the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. The absolute protagonist is the G.B. Pergolesi Musical Band of the City of Jesi, which transforms the historic center into an open-air stage: brass and percussion accompany a cheerful procession of little masks along the most beautiful streets of the city.

Itinerant Music in the Heart of the City

The heart of the festival is the itinerant music: the meeting point is in Piazza Pergolesi, where the band opens the festivities with its performance, and then leads the public along Corso Matteotti to Piazza della Repubblica, in front of the historic Pergolesi Theatre. It is here that the procession turns into a real town square party dedicated to the little ones.

A Festival for Families

Upon arrival in Piazza della Repubblica, masked children will find baby dance, games, and parades awaiting them, with the fun and engaging animation of Ciambellina. There will also be the inevitable candies and carnival sweets, distributed among adults and children. The atmosphere is that of simple and genuine village festivals, with parents and companions following the procession, transforming a winter day into a moment of community.

A Local Event

The event is organized by the G.B. Pergolesi Musical Band in collaboration with the Municipality of Jesi and the Pro Loco, confirming the strong link between the city and its band tradition. Admission is completely free and the event is open to all. In case of bad weather, the festivities move indoors, at the Palazzo dei Convegni in Corso Matteotti, so as not to miss the fun whatever the weather.
