Edition 2025 — South Messina Carnival
The 2025 edition of the Carnival in the Villages of South Messina featured Larderia as the protagonist with the 18th edition of the Carnival Festival, which took place on Saturday, March 1, starting at 7:00 PM with the tasting of homemade macaroni and sausage sandwiches, followed on Monday, March 3, by the "Carnival Village" masked parade along the village streets, from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
On the coastal front, the parishes of Giampilieri Marina (San Mauro) and Briga Marina (San Paolo) enlivened Piazza San Paolo with the "Golden Mask" competition: awards were given for the most original mask, the "Golden Mask," and several special recognitions, including a critics' award. The villages of Mili (San Marco, Marina, and San Pietro) also offered dance evenings and themed parades. The event confirmed the vitality of the neighborhood traditions on the southern side of the Municipality of Messina, in Sicily.
