Carnival in the Square

The 2025 edition of Carnival in the Square was held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Piazza dei Martiri in Carpi, in the province of Modena. The day marked the return of the Mostardino, the traditional Carpi mask, after almost a century of absence.

The festival began at 2:30 PM with the parade of floats and masked groups, enlivened by children from 28 local schools, from nurseries to primary schools. At 4:30 PM, the Mostardino delivered his speech from the Town Hall balcony, and at 6:00 PM, he was the protagonist of a dialect theater performance at the Municipal Theater. A great popular festival that drew between 8,000 and 10,000 people to the square.
