Carmelo Bene Theatre Season

The 2025 season of the Teatro Excelsior «Carmelo Bene» in Campi Salentina was part of the «For a human theatre» programme, promoted by Factory Compagnia Transadriatica as part of the Teatri del Nord Salento project. The common thread was a theatre capable of speaking to the present, featuring both immortal works reinterpreted in a contemporary key and space dedicated to civil theatre.

On 25 January 2025, the stage in Campi Salentina hosted «La stanza di Agnese», by and with Sara Bevilacqua, while the festival continued in other theatres of the network — Novoli, Leverano, and neighbouring towns — with titles such as Le notti bianche, Nannerl. L'ultima nota, …Di sana e robusta Costituzione!, and Atto di dolore. A programme supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region, Puglia Culture, and TRAC, which confirmed Campi Salentina as an important stop for contemporary theatre in the province of Lecce.
