Caritun Festival of Saint Anthony the Abbot

The 2025 edition of the Caritun Festival renewed the tradition linked to Saint Anthony the Abbot in Rifreddo, in the province of Cuneo. The main event took place on Sunday, January 12, with the 10:30 AM Mass at the chapel dedicated to the saint, followed by the blessing of the animals and the distribution of "Caritun," the star-shaped blessed loaves given in exchange for a donation to the chapel.

As per tradition, it was already possible to collect the bread on Saturday, January 11, at 4:00 PM during the vigil mass at the "Maria Regina" church. The festival reaffirmed its spirit of combining religious devotion and charitable goals, deeply rooted in the rural culture of the Saluzzo area.
