Edition 2025 — The Art Map

From August 22 to 24, 2025, Capri Leone hosted the first edition of The Art Map, an international art competition that transformed the historic center into an open-air museum. Organized by the Pro Loco with the Italian Association of Artistic Blacksmiths and the "Il Borgo" association, the event attracted artists from Italy, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, and Belgium, with a habitable house in the village up for grabs for the winner.

The first edition of The Art Map (2025)

From August 22 to 24, 2025, the village of Capri Leone, in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, hosted the debut of Capri Leone 23° Est – The Art Map. For three days, the alleys of the historic center were transformed into a widespread gallery, featuring works by Italian and international artists and masters.

Under the artistic direction of Filippo Pietro Castrovinci and with the support of the Municipality, the Sicily Region, and the GAL Nebrodi Plus, the competition awarded the first-place winner a habitable house in the village—an unprecedented prize that attracted attention even beyond regional borders. Artists from the Czech Republic, France, Spain, and Belgium participated, hosted by the administration for the entire duration of the event.
