Edition 2025 — Capone Festival
The tenth edition in Rinella
The 10th edition of the Capone Festival took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, starting at 7:30 PM, in Piazza San Gaetano in Rinella, a village in the municipality of Leni on the island of Salina. For 2025, the event was once again dedicated to promoting the Mediterranean's fishing heritage and celebrating the Aeolian Islands.
The star of the evening was the capone (mahi-mahi), served according to Aeolian recipes, including the classic preparation with Salina caponata and local capers. The festival, promoted by the Municipality of Leni with the Messina Tourism Bureau and the Amici del Frantoio association, drew numerous visitors to Rinella, including both residents and late-season tourists.
Programme
A unique evening with food stalls opening from 7:30 PM in Piazza San Gaetano in Rinella. Tasting of capone (mahi-mahi) prepared according to traditional Aeolian recipes, accompanied by the convivial atmosphere of the fishing village.
