Canyon Balloon Festival 2025: The Grand Finale in Laterza

The third edition of the Canyon Balloon Festival enlivened the Terra delle Gravine in autumn 2025, with stops in Mottola, Castellaneta, Ginosa, Corato, and the Grand Finale in Laterza, in the province of Taranto, from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The protagonists were about twenty hot air balloons arriving from various European countries, which rose above the Gravina di Laterza, the largest canyon in Europe. Every morning, from 7:00 to 10:00, weather permitting, the balloons took off for free flights departing from Agriturismo Nigro; every evening, from 19:00 to 21:00, the "Fly to the Moon" tethered ascents took three balloons up to about 25 meters high, accessible even to the little ones.

The weekend also offered live music, Apulian street food, street performer shows, visits to rock-hewn churches, excursions in the Terra delle Gravine Regional Natural Park, walks in the historic center and at the MUMA - Majolica Museum, as well as workshops for children and trekking. Admission was free, confirming the popular and tourist vocation of the event promoted by the Puglia Region.
