Cantarmaggio of Firenzuola

The 2025 edition of the Cantarmaggio of Firenzuola confirmed the vitality of one of the oldest and most deep-rooted traditions of Alto Mugello. The songs began on the evening of April 30th and continued on May 1st, starting from the hamlet of Riccianico, where the maggiaioli met for a breakfast based on local zero-kilometer products.

The group, led by Eva Barzagli, traveled through the streets of the town and hamlets, also using a tractor and wagon for travel. Among the stops was a visit to the local nursing home to bring songs and dances to the elderly. Along the way, residents offered coffee and wine, according to the ancient custom, while the offerings collected were donated to the local church, the Misericordia, and community associations.
