Edition 2025 — Cantamaggio

In 2025, Cantamaggio renewed the ancient tradition of singing 'il maggio' on the night between April 30th and May 1st, in Gubbio and the hamlets of the Eugubina Apennine foothills. The groups of 'maggiaioli' sang until dawn through the alleys of the historic centers, passing down a popular spring celebration rooted for generations in the territory.

The 2025 edition of Cantamaggio took place, as tradition dictates, on the night between April 30th and May 1st in the territory of Gubbio and the Eugubina Apennine foothills. The groups of 'maggiaioli' went from house to house singing the dialect songs of May until dawn, accompanied by accordions. A popular celebration of the arrival of spring that, from Purello to Mocaiana, continues to be passed down through generations, testifying to the connection of the Gubbio community with its farming roots.
