Cantà Maggio – District Palio

The Cantà Maggio 2025 renewed the tradition of the District Palio in Barberino di Mugello with four days of celebration, from May 22 to 25. The festivities had opened on May 10 with the Palio del Maggino, dedicated to the little ones with traditional games such as the donkey race, tug-of-war, and sack race.

The five districts of Badia, Centro Storico, Giudea, Girandola, and La Pesa competed in a series of folk games to win the Palio: the Girandola district prevailed. Throughout the event, the food stalls set up in the various districts offered Mugello specialties, amidst conviviality, May songs, and moments of celebration that involved the entire community.
