Edition 2025 — Candlemas Festival
On February 2, 2025, Cornovecchio celebrated the Feast of Candlemas, the patronal feast of the Lodi village dedicated to the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with the traditional blessing of candles in the parish church.
In 2025 as well, the community of Cornovecchio gathered around its parish church for the Feast of Candlemas, the main annual event for the small village in the Bassa lodigiana. The liturgical celebration on February 2nd, with the blessing of candles symbolizing the light of Christ, renewed an ancient Marian tradition deeply rooted in the region's peasant culture.
