The 27th edition (2025)

The 2025 edition of the Candelora Fair, the twenty-seventh, took place in Martano from Friday, January 31st to Sunday, February 2nd, organized by the Municipality together with the Comitato Fiera Candelora Martanese and the association ACAM 2.0 Aps, under the patronage of the Province of Lecce.

Friday opened the event with a conference on sustainable nutrition and local agriculture, the inauguration of the immersive game "MarTown - The Village of Wonders", the presentation of the book "Ma quant'è bello il Salento e quant'è bella Martano", and a concert of traditional Salento music. Saturday was dedicated to the Expo-market all day long, a conference on Xylella, and the "Candelora - Gocce di Musica & Cantine" event with wine tastings, followed by comedy shows. Sunday, the day of the Candelora, featured the livestock exhibition, "Manine Laboriose" creative workshops for children, musical moments, and the blessing of the candles with the procession.

The fair confirmed its dual nature: on one hand, the rural memory of the animal and local produce market, and on the other, a modern program capable of showcasing the Griko and Salento identity of Martano.
