Canascione Festival

The 11th edition

On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the historic center of San Felice Circeo hosted the eleventh edition of the Canascione Festival, now an unmissable event for residents and tourists wishing to immerse themselves in the authentic flavors and deep traditions of the Pontine territory.

The day began at 9:30 AM with an arts, crafts, and antiques market in Piazza Dante Alighieri; from 11:00 AM, food stalls offered free tastings of the canascione in its various versions, accompanied by traditional sweets from the «La Voce delle Donne» committee and «Natura in Campo» stalls featuring regional agricultural excellence, until closing at 8:00 PM. Live music and entertainment accompanied the public through the streets of the village. The free tasting was made possible by contributions from Arsial and the Lazio Region, with the organization of the Municipality of San Felice Circeo, the «Sagra del Canascione e Tradizioni Popolari» association, and the Pro Loco.
