Canale Fiorito is the festival that inaugurates spring in Battaglia Terme, a spa town in the Euganean Hills in the province of Padua. For May 1st, the historic center and the characteristic bridges over the Battaglia Canal are adorned with flowers, creating a route that blends nature, art, and environmental sustainability.
Flowers, art, and upcycling
Along the town's streets, a large market of flowers, plants, local products, and crafts unfolds, while along Via Terme, painters and sculptors work live outdoors. On the historic bridges, floral and upcycling installations take shape – creative decorations made from recycled materials, accompanied by selfie spots and themed compositions. An exhibition at Parco Pietro d'Abano involves local schools.
Water takes center stage
Battaglia Terme's connection with its waterway is at the heart of the festival: you can take boat trips on the canal, visit the Museum of River Navigation, and witness traditional rowing demonstrations by local rowing groups. For children, there are games and educational workshops at Parco Pietro d'Abano; for everyone, street food stalls, street performers, live music, and an afternoon musical aperitif. A day that tells the story of the river identity and creativity of a village in the Euganean Hills.

The 2026 edition of Canale Fiorito confirms the formula of the spring festival in the historic center of Battaglia Terme, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on May 1st. Between the horticultural market, live art along Via Terme, creative installations on the bridges, and activities on the water, the day celebrates the town's relationship with its canal. Shops in the center will be open all day.

How to get here
Battaglia Terme is on the Padua–Bologna railway line and along the SS16. By car, take the Terme Euganee exit from the A13 motorway.
