Callivari a Cavaddu

In the 2025 edition, Callivari a Cavaddu confirmed its role as one of the most cherished events of the Mistretta Carnival, in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina. The parade of mules and donkeys, starting from Largo Santa Sofia in the Santuzza district, crossed the streets of the center up to the municipal park.

On that occasion too, the event combined the procession with a sense of conviviality, featuring traditional Amastratina folk songs and the sharing of rustic dishes like boiled potatoes and eggs. A ritual that, year after year, continues to pass on the rural identity and roots of the Amastratina community.
