Edition 2025 — Calendimaggio

In 2025, the Calendimaggio of Fivizzano was not held: the event had been suspended for over thirty years and would only return in the spring of 2026, with the first edition of the new course on May 16th and 17th. The long absence is part of the history of this ancient spring festival of Lunigiana, deeply linked to the village of Fivizzano, in the province of Massa-Carrara, Tuscany.

In 2025, the Calendimaggio of Fivizzano did not take place: the historic spring festival had been suspended for over thirty years. Its rebirth was announced and organized for the following spring, with the return to Piazza Medicea on May 16th and 17th, 2026.

The Calendimaggio is one of the oldest festivals in Lunigiana, linked to the awakening of nature and, in the Middle Ages, to tournaments, songs, and dances. Its rediscovery in Fivizzano (Massa-Carrara, Tuscany) represented a return awaited by entire generations.
