Edition 2025 — Calata dei Magi

In 2025, on January 6th, Lizzano celebrated the Epiphany with the traditional Calata dei Magi. The costumed Magi procession crossed the historic center of the Salento town to the Church of San Nicola, accompanied by living nativity scenes, bagpipers, and the devotional atmosphere that has characterized this folk-religious event organized by the parish for generations.

On the day of the 2025 Epiphany, Monday, January 6th, the tradition of the Calata dei Magi was renewed in Lizzano, one of the most heartfelt events in the Christmas calendar of the town in the province of Taranto. As is customary, the Magi procession crossed the streets of the historic center, starting from the convent square and concluding on the parvis of the Church of San Nicola.

The event, promoted by the San Nicola Parish with the collaboration of church groups and the local theater laboratory, featured its most characteristic elements: costumed performers, living nativity scenes inspired by the Nativity, bagpipers, and animation moments along the route. A popular and devotional rite that draws inhabitants and visitors to the heart of the Salento village every year.
