Edition 2025 — Ca' Gessi - Middle-earth Refuge

In 2025, the Ca' Gessi Middle-earth Refuge project was still in the preparation phase: the iPodoEroi Association, active for twenty years in creating major trails, was working with the Municipality of Gemmano to revive the Onferno Castle structure and establish a permanent outpost for the Middle-earth Trail in Valconca. The actual inauguration would take place on June 7, 2026.

Before the official opening in 2026, the Middle-earth Refuge at Ca' Gessi was a project under construction. In the hamlet of Onferno Castle, in Gemmano (Province of Rimini), the Municipality and the iPodoEroi Association were finalizing the entrustment of the structure and its designation as an outpost for the Middle-earth Trail.

Building on twenty years of experience with trails like the Cammino dell'Eroe, RiMiRo, and Alta Via dell'Angelo, the association was preparing for the establishment of a welcome center for hikers in Valconca, in anticipation of the inauguration festival on June 7, 2026.
