Butterfly and Pollinator Festival

The June 2, 2025 edition of the Butterfly and Pollinator Festival took place as per tradition at the Monte Perone picnic area, with a meeting at 10:30 AM. Promoted by Legambiente Arcipelago Toscano together with the World Biodiversity Association and the Arcipelago Toscano National Park, the event featured a guided walk of approximately 4 km in the Ornella Casnati Butterfly Sanctuary.

Accompanied by guides and researchers from the University of Florence, participants were able to observe over 60 species of diurnal butterflies and the rare flora of the Elban mountains. Upon return, a snack with typical local products — Poggio micchette, Patresi onions, wine, oil, cheeses, and Elban sweets — and a convivial toast followed. The day concluded with an acoustic concert by the Orchestra Libera Tutti.
