Bugnara Pecorino Cheese Festival

The Bugnara Pecorino Cheese Festival took place on August 18, 2025, in the center of the village, in the province of L'Aquila, in one of its historic editions. The event, organized by the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Bugnara, offered tastings of local Pecorino—a sheep's milk cheese with a bold flavor—accompanied by honey, jams, homemade bread, and other typical products of the Peligna Valley. There was no shortage of food and wine stalls, live music, and the characteristic curd-making demonstration, featuring the production of cheese according to the ancient method of the Bugnara shepherds. A late-summer appointment that combined taste, rural tradition, and conviviality in the heart of the mountainous Abruzzo.
