Bread Festival of Monterosso Almo

The 2025 Bread Festival of Monterosso Almo was held on August 31, 2025, in Piazza San Giovanni, confirming its status as one of the most beloved gastronomic events in the Iblei Mountains. In the historic center square, stands were set up for tastings of Monterosso homemade bread, fragrant and aromatic, baked in stone ovens according to recipes passed down for generations.

Visitors were able to savor bread seasoned with oil, oregano, caciocavallo, and capuliato, the sun-dried tomato mince typical of the Iblei region, all accompanied by red wine from the Monterosso hills. The evening, part of the festivities in honor of Saint John the Baptist, was enlivened by folkloric, musical, and entertainment shows that drew numerous visitors to the village, uniting rural culture, the art of baking, and the community's collective memory.
