Borgo Gancia Living Nativity

The 2025-2026 edition

For the 2025-2026 holidays, the Borgo Gancia Living Nativity opened to the public on the evenings of December 26, 2025, and January 1, 5, and 6, 2026, starting from 5:30 PM. Along the slope of the historic hill of Paternò, in the province of Catania, performers reconstructed the daily life of rural Paternò in the 19th century: bakers, blacksmiths, artisans, and washerwomen at work in the medieval alleys.

The route, illuminated by torches and candles and accompanied by the sound of bagpipes, concluded with the representation of the birth of Jesus at the Nativity hut, at the foot of the castle. There was no shortage of tastings of genuine local traditional products. Admission was free, with access from Piazza Santa Barbara.
