Edition 2025 — Borghi in Festa

The sixth edition of Borghi in Festa took place from July 31 to August 2, 2025, in the historic center of Barbarano del Capo. For three evenings, the village returned to the 1950s, with scenes of rural life, old crafts, children's games from the past, food stalls, and the overwhelming notes of the pizzica by Gli Indiavolati.

Borghi in Festa 2025 — the sixth edition

From July 31 to August 2, 2025, the village of Barbarano del Capo hosted the sixth edition of Borghi in Festa. For three evenings, starting at 9:00 PM, the historic center relived the atmosphere of the 1950s: among the ancient stone dwellings, visitors rediscovered old crafts such as wool mending and legume threshing, children playing barefoot in the streets, and corners set up like homes of the past.

There was no shortage of traditional flavors: the handmade pasta stand, fried pittule, wine, and meat. Every evening, on the ajara set up in the square, people danced to the rhythm of pizzica with the group Gli Indiavolati. The event was organized by the San Lorenzo Martire Parish of Barbarano del Capo, a district of Morciano di Leuca, with the participation of the entire community.

Programme

July 31 - August 2, 2025 (three evenings from 9:00 PM)

  • Re-enactment of old crafts — wool mending, legume threshing, and other gestures of Salento's peasant civilization, with villagers in period costumes.
  • 1950s life scenes — children playing barefoot in the street with hoops, houses and courtyards set up like in the past.
  • Food stalls — handmade pasta, pittule, wine, and meat.
  • Live pizzica — music and dancing with Gli Indiavolati on the ajara in the square.

Highlights

The historic center transformed into a living 1950s museum and the pizzica evenings with Gli Indiavolati on the ajara.

Prices

Free admission to the village; food and drinks at the stalls are for purchase.
