Bolzano Danza 2025: Insurrection
The 41st edition of Bolzano Danza / Tanz Bozen was held from July 18 to August 1, 2025, in Bolzano and the surrounding area, inaugurating the new 'Trilogy of Passion' conceived by artistic directors Olivier Dubois and Anouk Aspisi. The theme of the first chapter, 'Insurrection', invited people to rise up, change perspective, and give voice to deeper truths.
The festival opened on July 18 with the Italian premiere of 'Helikopter/Licht' by French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj. Other notable events included 'Delirious Night' by Danish artist Mette Ingvartsen (July 25), 'Asteroide' by Italian artist Marco D'Agostin (July 28), and 'Louise' by Swiss artist Martin Zimmermann (July 29 and 30). The free dance day ExtraDanza was held on July 26.
For two weeks, Bolzano hosted over thirty events, including shows, outdoor performances, world premieres, and participatory activities, confirming its status as one of the leading contemporary dance festivals in Italy.
