Edition 2025 — Festa Ru Nannu

The 2025 edition of the Festa Ru Nannu took place on Sunday, March 2, in Bolognetta. Despite the rain, a colorful crowd filled the town streets: over 300 participants paraded from the Bivio to Piazza Caduti in Guerra, amidst confetti, music, and choreography. The day concluded with the awards ceremony for the masked groups and the traditional burning of the Nannu.

The 2025 edition of the Bolognetta Carnival was held on Sunday, March 2, organized by the Pro Loco Bolognetta in collaboration with the Forum of Bolognetta Associations and the municipal administration, with the support of the Sicilian Region. The parade started at 3:00 PM from the Bivio di Bolognetta, crossing the town with entertainment and stilt walkers until reaching Piazza Caduti in Guerra. At 5:00 PM, the Osteria del Gusto opened with tastings of bread, oil, wine, sausage, sfinci, and chiacchiere; in the evening, the burning of the Nannu took place, followed by awards and music.

The festival attracted visitors from neighboring towns, confirming itself as an event of strong community identity for Bolognetta.

Programme

3:00 PM: Gathering of masked groups at the Bivio di Bolognetta; 4:00 PM: Start of the parade with entertainment along the route; 5:00 PM: Opening of the Osteria del Gusto in Piazza Caduti in Guerra with tastings; 7:00 PM: Arrival at Piazza Caduti in Guerra, burning of the Nannu, awards ceremony, and DJ music.

Highlights

Over 300 participants in the procession; stilt walkers from Simolandia; burning of the straw effigy "U Nannu"; Nannu d'oro, Niputi d'oro, and Cucinu babbu awards; tastings of sfinci and chiacchiere.
