Bologna Carnival

The 2025 edition of the Bologna Carnival enlivened the capital of Emilia-Romagna with a rich calendar of events in February. The highlight was the Carnival in Piazza Maggiore, with the city's most iconic square transformed into an open-air theater with parades of historical and modern masks, street artist performances, and circus acts.

For the little ones, the Carnival for Children offered creative workshops for making masks and costumes, puppet shows with the traditional Doctor Balanzone, and games in Bologna's main squares, confirming the festival's strong connection with the city's popular tradition.
