Blessing of the Sea and Ferragosto in Cesenatico

The 2025 edition of the Blessing of the Sea saw a large turnout of faithful, sailors, and tourists along Cesenatico's Canal Port. The day began with the Solemn Mass in Piazza Ciceruacchio at 8 AM, presided over for the first time by the new bishop of Cesena-Sarsina, Monsignor Giuseppe Caiazzo.

At 9 AM, the statue of the Madonna del Rosario was carried by sailors and fishermen and loaded onto the fishing boat Sirio for the traditional blessing of the waters, with the laying of a wreath of flowers in memory of those lost at sea. Musical accompaniment was provided by the Springtime Brass quintet. Upon return, the procession on foot reached the church of San Giacomo Apostolo, where a second Mass was celebrated at 11 AM.
