Edition 2025 — Biografilm

The 21st edition of the Biografilm Festival took place in Bologna in June 2025 with 73 films and 68 premieres, including 21 world premieres, and over 60 guests, distributed across six sections in the historic city center's venues. The award for the best film in the International Competition went to "Girls & Gods" by Arash T. Riahi and Verena Soltiz, while Biografilm Italia awarded "Despite the Scars" by Felix Rier.

The 21st edition of the Biografilm Festival concluded in Bologna on June 16, 2025, reaffirming its status as the leading Italian festival dedicated to life story cinema. The program featured 73 films with 68 premieres, including 21 world premieres, and over 60 guests, organized into six sections: International Competition, Biografilm Italia, Contemporary Lives, Biografilm Art&Music, and Beyond Fiction.

The award for the best film in the International Competition was given to Girls & Gods by Arash T. Riahi and Verena Soltiz, "for its poetic and powerful representation of female resistance." For the Biografilm Italia section, Despite the Scars by Felix Rier won, while the Premio Manifesto for Contemporary Lives went to Green Is the New Red by Anna Recalde Miranda. Among the Audience Awards, Mr. Nobody Against Putin won for the International Competition.
