Edition 2025 — Bike Transumanza Fest

In June 2025, Orta Nova was once again the starting point for the Tour Bike della Transumanza, the mountain bike excursion that took participants from the Tavoliere delle Puglie to Villavallelonga, in the Abruzzo Marsica region, from June 19 to 22. Four days along the shepherd trails that represent the cycle tourism roots from which the Bike Transumanza Fest was born.

From June 19 to 22, 2025, Orta Nova served as the starting point for the Tour Bike della Transumanza, the mountain bike excursion that connects the Tavoliere delle Puglie to the Abruzzo Marsica region every year. The route, spanning several hundred kilometers over four days, largely retraces the Regio Tratturo Lucera-Castel di Sangro and the Celano-Foggia trail, the ancient grassy paths of transhumance, alternating between dirt and paved sections across the Apulian plains and the mountains of Abruzzo up to Villavallelonga (L'Aquila).

It is in this tradition, strong and rooted in the territory of Orta Nova (Province of Foggia), that the Bike Transumanza Fest finds its origins, a day dedicated to amateur cycling created to bring the spirit of the Tour to the city.

Programme

The 2025 Tour Bike della Transumanza was divided into four consecutive stages, from June 19 to 22, starting from Orta Nova and arriving in Villavallelonga. The challenging daily segments alternated long stretches along the trails with mountain sections, for a total itinerary of several hundred kilometers through Puglia, Molise, and Abruzzo.

Prices

<p>For the 2025 Tour Bike della Transumanza, the participation fee was 390 euros for registration by April 30 and 440 euros for later entries, with a promotional rate of 370 euros for the first 40 registrants and a 5% discount for groups of at least 5 people. Registration closed on May 31.</p>
