Bellini International Context 2025 in Messina

From September 19 to 27, 2025, the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina hosted nine days of free performances as part of the fifth edition of the Bellini International Context, promoted by the Sicilian Region.

The program blended different genres and languages: it opened on September 19 and 20 with Bellindanza, a dance, singing, and live music show featuring the Marvan Dance Company with choreography by Mariangela Bonanno. On September 22, Bellini-Paganini, an (im)possible dialogue was performed, featuring Stefano Di Battista, Nicky Nicolai, and the theater's orchestra. On September 23, the Corelli Jazz Combo from the Messina Conservatory presented chamber compositions with a jazz twist, while on September 24, the headline event Norma in Jazz starred Paolo Fresu with the Mediterranean Jazz Orchestra. The opera recital Between Bellini and Donizetti (September 26) and the double concert by the Massimo Youth Orchestra Bellini in Brass! (September 27) concluded the Messina festival.
