Befana del Maggi

The 2025 edition of Befana del Maggi marked the 46th anniversary of this Epiphany tradition born in 1973. On Sunday, January 5th, regardless of the weather conditions, the hamlet of Maggi in Sant'Agata Bolognese lit its great bonfire in front of a large crowd.

The evening began at 5:30 PM with entertainment, the opening of the food stand, and the arrival of Santa Claus and Befana, who distributed stockings filled with surprises to the children. Around 7:00 PM, the pyromusical show curated by PiroItaly set fire to the imposing structure, offering attendees one of the most spectacular bonfires in the province of Bologna. Crescentine, cured meats, coffee, and mulled wine accompanied the celebration, with admission by donation and a shuttle service available to visitors.
