Two weekends of craft beer, street food, and music in the lush Aniene Valley
The Beer Park Festival has become one of the most anticipated events at the start of the Roman summer. It takes place in the Aniene Valley Nature Reserve, a protected area managed by RomaNatura that spans the city's northeast quadrant. Access is via Via Nomentana, near Via Jacopo Sannazzaro, in the Monte Sacro district. Located in the Municipality of Rome, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the heart of the Lazio region, it offers an unconventional setting for a beer event: instead of the usual asphalt, you'll find yourself walking among trees, meadows, and the banks of the Aniene river.
The festival's signature format is the double weekend: two twin editions held just days apart, each featuring a different selection of fifteen craft breweries, totaling thirty independent producers. The curation intentionally balances established names in the Italian scene with young, emerging talents, ensuring that those who return for the second weekend discover entirely new taps, styles, and brews.
Tastings follow the classic beer festival system: you purchase the official festival glass, then use tokens for individual pours, available at the cash desk or via online pre-booking. The range of styles is extensive, spanning from crisp lagers and hoppy IPAs to sour beers, stouts, wheat beers, and seasonal creations specifically crafted for the June heat.
Alongside the taps, there is a curated selection of street food, featuring classic, vegetarian, vegan, international, and regional options, all prepared on the spot by independent vendors. Every evening, the program includes DJ sets and musical performances that enhance the vibe without overshadowing the culinary experience; the festival remains, first and foremost, a place for tasting and meeting the producers.
The environment is convivial and informal, much like a neighborhood block party: shared tables, grassy areas, space for children in the early evening, and a crowd that blends residents of the 3rd Municipality, enthusiasts from across the city, and passing visitors. Admission is free, a key factor in the event's widespread popularity.
Born as a small showcase for independent beer, the Beer Park Festival has grown with every edition to become a benchmark for the sector in Lazio. The 2025 edition marked the tenth anniversary, while in 2026 the event reached its eleventh edition, confirming the double-weekend format and its unique setting within the nature reserve.
For those visiting Rome in June, the Beer Park Festival offers a different way to experience the city: far from the tourist circuits of the historic center, inside an urban park that few visitors know, alongside the locals.
In 2026, the Beer Park Festival confirmed its double weekend format: the first session from Thursday, June 4 to Sunday, June 7, and the second from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, June 14, with a break during the weekdays from June 8 to 10. The venue remained the Aniene Valley Nature Reserve, in Monte Sacro, Rome.
Thirty Italian craft breweries alternated, fifteen each weekend, accompanied by a selection of street food with classic, vegetarian, vegan, and international offerings. Every evening, DJ sets accompanied the tastings until late at night. Admission remained free, with the option to book skip-the-line access online.

Thursday to Saturday from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM, Sunday from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Admission is free. For tastings, you purchase the official glass and tokens; a skip-the-line option is available online.
Bring a light sweater for the evening, as the area is wooded and can be humid near the river. The festival is family-friendly during the early hours. Visitors from outside Rome can find accommodation in the Nomentano, Montesacro, and Trieste districts, all of which are well-connected.
