Battaglia delle Chiuse 2025
The 2025 edition of the Battaglia delle Chiuse Historical Re-enactment was held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, in the Susa Valley. For the occasion, the historic center became a grand open-air spectacle, animated by knights, minstrels, and jesters, with performances spread throughout the village streets. The taverns offered roasted meats, cured meats, cheeses, and desserts inspired by medieval traditions, while artisans brought the corners of the town to life. As per tradition, the evening concluded with the re-enactment of the 773 battle between Charlemagne's army and the Lombards of King Desiderius, enhanced by evocative special effects.
